An effective coupling reagent for peptide synthesis. Used in preparation of a glycosylated bicyclic peptide -MEN11420 by double cyclization,1 convergent synthesis of dolastatin 15 by solid phase coupling of N-methylamino acid,2 convergent synthesis of (-)-mirabazole B in the presence of 1-hydroxy-7- azabenzotriazole (HOAt),3 and efficient coupling of α,α-dimethyl amino acids.4 Also employed in the synthesis of 2-azido-1,3-dimethylimidazolinium hexafluorophosphate for preparing organic azides from primary amines.5
