Widely used in the synthesis of organic and organometallic compounds. Involved in principal organic reactions such as Mitsunobu reaction, Staudinger reaction, Appel reaction, Suzuki reaction and ozonolysis. Has been applied in deoxygenation of various phosphine oxides with retention of configuration,1 rhodium-catalyzed methylenation-hydrogenation cascade process,2 synthesis of allenes by the reaction of ketenes with EDA under neutral conditions,3 conversion of various carboxylic acids into acyl azides,4 preparation of alkyl nitrites from alcohols and thiols,5 mediating a one-step reaction to assemble pyrroles from α,β-unsaturated imines and acid chlorides.6
