A Reagent to introduce the tert-butyldiphenylsilyl (TBDPS) group that is an exceedingly sterically hindered hydroxyl protecting group, especially in the protection of alcohols.1 The tbutyldiphenylsilyl protecting group is considerably more stable (approximately 100 times) than the tbutyldimethylsilyl protecting group toward acidic hydrolysis.1 Applied in a variety of complex natural product syntheses.2,3,4
